Question for the masses
Okay, I'm pretty sure the Id would be cookie monster, but I'm not sure what Sesame Street character would be the Ego or Superego.

Hello nice to meet you.

Kermit and the Count, in that order.
Okay, I agree with Cookie Monster, though Ernie and Oscar the Grouch both have definite Id moments.
For Super Ego, I might say Burt or Telly Monster, as they both are bitchy and superior...I mean as they often find themselves in conflict with Id characters.
For Ego, I would probably agree with Kermit. However, I think Grover or Prairie Dawn are often pacifying or mediating forces.
Anyway, I shouldn't even be in this discussion as I agree with criticisms of Freud's theory that it is extremely sexist. He believed that women could not conceive of the father figure inherent in the Super Ego and, therefore, had a weak Super Ego aspect. This meant, of course, that women were way too open to acting on their sexual and baser urges. Silly man. Thanks, Freud, for supporting all the medival reasoning for women being shut up at home as a possession.
Freud was a sex-obesssed coke addict with some severe issues about his own mother. Still, I have to give the man credit for more or less inventing psychotherapy. His version is all fucked up, but at least it was a start.
